Don't take this the wrong way

Throughout the ages, has there been a more reliable material to keep oneself warm, and protected from rain and wind at the same time? Given the usefulness and many applications of leather in clothing, I'm surprised I don't see more young people wearing leather.
Sure there's the occasional cool young dude sporting the skin, but in general it's the older crowd that tends to get the life-lasting value of leather. That, and they just understand how cool it looks. Unfortunately, by the time they reach 65 these very same people take their spouse and go out and buy matching Gore-Tex, rain- and wind-proof jackets. You know who you are, grandma and grandpa.

Call me a faggot, but I miss this dude.
One more note. By "wear leather" I really only mean three things: Jacket, shoes and belt. Leather hot pants with matching hat and, um, armpit-belts are only tolerated if your name starts with H and ends with ard Gay.

Give leather a try. It costs a bit more, but it'll last not only through the weather but also through the tides of fashion. Call me when leather goes out of style.

Trivia: Many of you might recognize the man to the right as "Hard Gay". What you didn't know is that after a long absence, he is now said to be returning... as Hard Lez!

I love my leather jacket, but you're right, you don't see many kids with them these days.

Leather is great, but it wont keep you dry!

Couldn't agree more, it's just that leather costs quite a bit more, that's probably why the younger crowd doesn't wear it.

@Ugh: Nobody's asking you to pull anything off, young lady, I'm just trying to make you look fabulous ;D

In all honesty, though, a woman that wears a leather jacket that suits her is one of the biggest turn-ons.

Okay, I hear you, but what do say to the "cruelty-free" people? Do you favour fashion over ideals or just think their ideals are bullshit?

damn, my outfit is totally out of fashion now

I only wear leather belts/shoes to be honest. I do own a leather jacket though.. that was used for a Village People halloween costume.

Personally never been a big fan of leather; primarily because it's so darn hard to get it fitting properly on me (I have a barrel chest and thick arms...the cuts are just damned annoying to get right). Secondly because the smell bothers me a bit.

Always been a sharp-suit kind of guy. Thanks for the idea, nontheless.
