We can forgive the industry for not coming up with this right away. A technology needs time to mature, and with the first generation iPhone prominently showing the world what a touch screen-powered mobile device could do, the next four years supplied the industry with the investments necessary to bring us buttons... in a touch screen!
A technology that, like 3D, will be challenging to advertise. |
To round off our discussion on technology pioneers, let me ask you this question:
Would you buy the first iteration of a new technology like the 3DS or a 3D TV, or would you wait for later models that have ironed out some of the kinks? In other words, are you an "early adopter", or a member of the "late majority"?

I'm totally buying the shit out of a 3ds.
I hate touch screen phones. Would way rather have buttons!
that is soo cool!!! anyways nice blog, ill follow and support you! :D
I am still undecided between Android and iPhone. I want an android I think but I hear there may be some bugs in the recent releases?
Either way electrotactile touch screens sounds like a hell of a selling point in shifting my opinion one way haha
I'd wait to get the 3D stuff, but the new touch screen sounds promising
No, I won't. I prefer not having dementia.
if i dont get the launch model, chances are im not getting the next gen either
early adopter!
If I have the cash I'm an early adapter all the way!!!! BTW...I made you new blog of the day.
i love beeing early adopter :)
Im still using a flip phone that can only call people and text..
late majority...third or fourth generation late maj. Can't be bothered. Ho hum.
I think i would wait at least a little while to buy anything brand new. You know, let the public test it out first xD
I want
also early adopter!!
actual blog, I like it)
I always wait until they iron out any kinks.
It really depends on the reviews, and how soon I think a replacement product will hit the markets... and how groundbreaking the product is, of course!
i prefer to enjoy what i have, bug free,
and wait for the next gen. to come. :)
I'm excited to hear more about this. One of the main things that I don't like about smart phones is that inability to type without looking. This should be pretty cool once it matures.
That is cool - follwoing
I'd probably wait 'til things get ironed out a bit. Tactile touch sounds like it would be awesome for touch screen music applications.
It's smart to wait, but to be cool you gotta take the plunge.
i use swipe. makes texting much easier.
I would wait until it's much cheaper :)
Thats so amazing. Must have for iPhone 5
Baxxmans
I think i've learned my lesson and will try to be a part of the late majority from now on.
yeah typing on a virtual keyboard is not the easiest thing.
My touch screen was junk 3 months after I got it. I'm to hard on phones I guess to have a touch screen.
I enjoy my iphone but I hate apple
The Tactical Touch looks awesome.
